Jeff’s Gourmet Market

Our History

Nearly 60 years ago Jeff Carbone opened a clam bar in Huntington. Jeff would buy clams from the local clam diggers and sell them to the public. Soon after, Jeff’s two older brothers, George and Gerald Carbone, began lobstering. George and Gerald would bring their day’s catch from the Long Island Sound to Jeff, who then began selling lobsters alongside the clams. In 1969, Jeff built the building in Huntington that Jeff’s Seafood still operates our wholesale seafood in.

I liked the place for being clean and tidy, the seafood is fresh and they offer a small variety of sushi that has good taste and presentation. The staff in the treatment is friendly and specific.

I visited the new location tonight. It was clean big selection of fish, crab cakes, oysters, clams, soups and the location has a grill with hot food, boars head cold cuts, grilled chicken, meats, salads and fresh variety of steaks for the grill..Many Peter Luger products as well. I saw fresh Italian bread, fresh raviolis and many sauces..Italian specialties. Super impressed they also share the space with “Roots” formerly from the village for great smoothies acai bowls. My flounder filets were delicious and at a fair price..less than other surrounding places..I will continue returning Jeff’s is the best place for fresh seafood in the area.
